Moen (CEO Jinman Kim) is a specialized company in electrical control and industrial machinery manufacturing based on motion and vector control technology established in 2018.

Based on the original technology of unwinder and rewinder control, which are the basics of roll-to-roll equipment, it specializes in building motor control systems for various machines such as paper, textile, and secondary battery separator production lines.

While regenerative braking is widely used in large roll-to-roll equipment, regenerative motors are used in less than 0.1% of small and medium-sized roll-to-roll equipment, which wastes a lot of electricity. Moen took advantage of this and applied for a patent for a regenerative braking device that can be easily used in small and medium-sized roll-to-roll equipment.

When regenerative braking tension control devices are widely used, the power consumption of production plants is expected to be greatly reduced, contributing to lowering KEPCO’s power generation.

In addition, while existing control devices generate environmental pollutants such as asbestos, regenerative braking does not generate harmful environmental substances, contributing to carbon neutrality.
